A Short back Story

 I'll keep this simple.

 My names is Jim Borucinski. I'm the owner of Aurora Studio at 41 State St, in the Former Michael DeNardis Salon location. 

 I have spend over 20+ years as a hairstylist. 21 years at this location, for the last 8 years I've also proudly been an educator for Schwarzkopf professional.

After my  years of travel, education, and long salon hours, I've decided to open up Aurora Studio as a chair rental space for hairstylist and beauty professionals that want to be downtown.

 Downtown has its challenges, and so does the beauty industry. I've created a space that will alleviate some of those hurdles.

 I've had multiple chances to leave downtown, and could have rented a larger space in the burbs. An easier space with parking lots and strip malls too. The reality is that strip malls are great and convenient, but aren't my thing.

 I love having restaurants, shows, and the water near me. I live half a mile away and a majority of my life is spent within a mile of downtown. The only way to help downtown grow, is to continue to be part of it! I am 100% downtown first. Residents and businesses within urban centers continually need change and support. Historically, salons and barbershops have always been an important element of vibrant neighborhoods and city centers. 

I'm looking for renters that feel the same way. Ones that know where to park, what places there are to eat, and what shows happen to be around. Yes, all of that information is at our fingertips 24/7.....and no parking is not difficult.

Because I don't have a ton of chairs, renters have to mesh with each other in order to continue a good vibe in the salon. (We are professionals and practice a craft, drama isn't an element of that)

 I'd love someone with great balance between being a professional in your craft and having a casual demeanor. This business has enough posturing and attitudes. We work in the most AMAZING craft, why not show it?!

As you can see to the left, I clean up well, but often live in jeans and drop cut tee-shirts. 

This space has become and extension of my quirky self, and I would love to welcome renters to the Salon who maybe live downtown, or are looking for a change in vibe.

Downtown Albany location is surrounded by a vibrant community of visitors, businesses, and residents. All of which provide the foundation for a greater city.  Aurora Studio strives to provide an environment where those pieces can organically come together. Both stylists and clients can grow, while also being involved in the ever expanding fabric of Downtown
